This 9-month project is a collaboration of Safe Futures with Writers Block Ink. Forum participants will engage in group discussions with Safe Futures advocates and work with Writer’s Block Ink facilitators to use theater to explore the root causes of domestic violence (10 am – 12 noon). Directly following the forum, from 12 – 2 pm, is an Open Arts Studio, in which participants can choose to attend 1 of 5 arts sessions, which include writing, visual arts, dance, and drumming. These sessions – and a private space to record stories of experiencing or witnessing domestic violence – will allow participants to express themselves and their experiences through the arts. Final session: Community Forum: Saturday, July 30th, 10 am-12 noon Open Arts Studio: Saturday, July 3oth – 12-2 pm All events are free and open to the public.
